CPTC Library/Learning Resource Center: Textbooks

Welcome to the CPTC Library/Learning Resource Center! We are located in building 15.

Textbooks at the Library

Find Textbook Info and Purchase Online through the Bookstore

If you are unsure which books you need or would like to order personal copies, you may do so through the Bookstore website. All questions regarding textbook purchase and rental can be directed to the Bookstore via phone (253-589-5614) or email (sm8227@bncollege.com).

Library Textbook Collection

The Library does not proactively purchase textbooks for our collection but some programs will purchase copies for us to lend to students. Faculty members are also welcome to provide copies of their textbooks for students to use.

To see a complete list of textbooks available to borrow from the Library, visit our Course Reserves list. This list can be organized by class or instructor name, or class number.

If your textbook does not show up in this list, we likely do not have it available for borrowing. You are welcome to double-check by searching for it by title in the general Library catalog or asking Library Staff for assistance.

Using Textbooks in the Library

There are some usage restrictions in place for students using textbooks in the Library:

  • Course Reserves copy = if only one copy is available, that copy is limited to use within the Library
    • you may make copies and scans within copyright restrictions or use the book within the Library to complete coursework
  • Any additional copies are available for our standard 28-day loan period
  • NWC&THS collection = the Northwest Career & Technical High School will purchase textbooks for their students to check out for one quarter at a time. If the book is not already part of Library collection, NWC&THS students can submit requests to the NWC&THS administrative staff.
    • books from this collection open up for all students to borrow for 28-days starting in during the third week of the quarter
