Borrowing Library Material

Search our catalog to find books and other items of interest, and then log in with your CPTC email username and password to place a hold, or contact the library and we'll be glad to do it for you. Once you receive confirmation that your book is available for pick-up, stop by the library to check it out.

Check your CPTC email for notices from the library concerning recalls, holds, overdue and billing notices. The Library does not charge daily overdue fines. If overdue items are not returned after receipt of three notices, they will be assumed lost and incur a $10 fine and possible replacement fees. Any questions regarding overdues, loans, or fees can be directed to (253) 589-5544 or

Returning Items to Library

Library books and media (DVDs, CDs) can be returned to the Circulation Desk during open hours or to the Book Return Box located on the East side of Building 15 in the driveway.

Equipment such as laptops, webcams, calculators, must be returned to the Circulation Desk during open hours.

Borrowing from Other Libraries

Reciprocal Borrowing

CPTC participates in a Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement with other Washington State community and technical colleges, to offer students, faculty and staff across the State convenient access to a larger number of library resources that support teaching and learning.

If the CPTC Library does not have the items you are looking for but they are available at another SBCTC college, Library staff will work with you to help you borrow those materials from the college library that owns them,
