Student Email Support

 

CPTC Student Email is on Office 365 (O365)

Sign in to O365 Student Email [username@students.cptc.edu]

All Clover Park Technical College correspondence will be sent to your college issued email address.  Please check your CPTC email account regularly. Using your student email will help you keep up-to-date on important information and events and communicate with faculty and other students.

** Your CPTC student email account will be created within 24 - 48 hours after you have enrolled in CPTC for-credit courses. **

Your college issued email address is also your log in for the college Wi-Fi network, Canvas, and all student computers on campus.

Set Up your O365 Email Account

Step 1: New Email Accounts

Go to the CPTC Student Email portal.

Enter Username and Password according to these guidelines:

Username:  your first initial +  your last name and the last 4 digits of your ctcLink ID (beginning with a 1 or 2), followed by @students.cptc.edu

Default Password:  The default password is based on your birthdate, in this format:  cptcddMmmyyyy

  • Example: if you were born on June 8, 1999, your default password will be cptc08Jun1999

Security Setup:  When you log into your account for the first time, you will be asked to provide a cell phone number, for account security.

** Some students may have an older email format based on our previous student IDsLook up your email address  **

 

Step 2: Change Your Password

 

Change your password right away, to prevent misuse of your account.  You must change your password every 120 days.

  1. Go to your CPTC email inbox.
  2. Click on your username/initials in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Click "View Account."
  4. Look for the Password tile and click "Change Password."
  5. Enter your current and new passwords.  Your new password must be at least 10 characters, with small letters, capital letters, and at least one number or special character.
  6. Click "Submit."

You can reset your password using the above steps at any time, wherever you have access to the internet.  If you forget your password, you may reset your password by following the Password Recovery process at https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/.

Step 3: Check your CPTC Student email every day!

Use your student email address to access your email with your Office 365 account, to log into the CPTC_Students Wi-Fi network on campus, to access Canvas, and to log in to student computers on campus.

Password Reset

Reset your O365 password

You will be prompted to change your password upon your first login, along with setting up password self-recovery options. If you you’re your old password, you may change your password at any time by following the directions below.

  1. Go to your inbox.
  2. Click on your username in the top-right corner
  3. Click "View Account."
  4. Click "Password."
  5. Enter your current and new passwords — your new password must be at least 10 characters, have at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter, one number or special character, and must not use your first or last name. You cannot reuse your last four passwords.
  6. Click "Submit".

If you have forgotten your password, visit the Microsoft Password Reset page to reset it.

Mobile Email Access

If you wish to use your student email with a mobile phone, please follow the instructions for setting up your CPTC email on your mobile phone:

Your student email account is managed in Microsoft O365. You can download the Microsoft Outlook app from Microsoft store, Google Playstore or iOS app store, depending on which model of phone you are using. For additional information or to download, please visit Microsoft's Outlook download page and follow instructions on how to configure your smartphone to access your CPTC student e-mail account.
