Welcome to the CPTC Library/Learning Resource Center! We are located in building 15.

Announcements

The Library will be closing at 4 PM on Wednesday, November 27th.

Welcome to CPTC Library! We are located on the Lakewood campus in building 15. If you need assistance, give us a call at (253) 589-5544 during our open hours. We may also be reached at cptclibrary@cptc.edu.

Find library resources

Check out the library catalog or use the search box below to see which books and DVDs are available to check out from our Library. You are always welcome to browse the collection in-person during our open hours.

Search for CPTC Library materials

Looking for books, DVDs, or other items to borrow from the Library?  Start your search here!

Borrowing policies, including loan periods, returns and renewals information, available on our Borrowing Information page.

Students can find textbook information and order online through the Bookstore website.

The Library has a collection of textbooks available for students to use within the Library building or check out for our standard 28-day loan. Check out our textbook page for more details. Please note that our collection is small and that we do not have all of the textbooks for every class.

Emergency Book Fund

If your textbooks have been stolen, lost in flood or fire, or have been lost for other reasons, the CPTC Foundation may be able to help! Contact Cathy Purcella (253-589-5545) for more information on how to get help replacing lost or stolen textbooks.

A complete list of searchable databases can be found in our A-Z Database List.

The Library lends a limited number of laptops to students to use for the entirety of the quarter. Because supplies are limited, we open a waitlist one month before the next quarter starts. Other limitations may apply.

Contact the Computer Lab (253-589-5820) to get on the waitlist or to ask questions about borrowing a laptop.

Students who have overdue materials are not eligible for laptop loans.

A physical photo ID is required for laptop loans. A picture of an ID will not be accepted.

Please visit us during our open hours or contact us via phone (253-589-5544) or email to request use of a study room.

Computer Access

Our Computer Lab has plenty of Microsoft PC's available for student use. No reservation is necessary: you can hop on any open computer and login with the same credentials you would use to login to Canvas.

Printing

Students have access to free printing within the Library building, with some limitations. Color as well as black and white printing is available. Please visit our Computer Lab page for more information.

Printing is not currently available to members of the community. Please visit your local public library for printing access.

Please see our Printing, Scanning, Faxing page for more details.

Email

Student emails are created 24 hours after you register for classes. They are accessible through Microsoft Outlook and use the following default formats for username and password:

  • username: first initial + full last name + last four digits of student ID number@students.cptc.edu
  • password: birthday in this format = cptcddMmmyyyy

You can reset your password from home using Microsoft's password reset. Please note that passwords expire every 120 days.

Please see our Student Email Help page for more information or contact the Computer Lab (253-589-5820) for assistance.

Canvas

Your Canvas login is the same as your student email but without the "@students.cptc.edu" portion.

If you're having difficulty logging into Canvas, try resetting your password. If you require further assistance, please contact the eLearning Specialist (253-589-4534).
