CARES Sessions Overview

These five focus areas are essential to our mission at Clover Park Technical College. They represent our collective commitment to enhancing student success, promoting equity, and fostering a supportive educational environment.

Why is CARES Important?

  • Holistic Growth: CARES addresses critical aspects of our institution, ensuring we support students academically, professionally, and personally.
  • Community Engagement: By focusing on these areas, we strengthen our campus community and build a more inclusive culture.
  • Strategic Alignment: CARES aligns with our mission to educate tomorrow's workforce and our values of access, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

How the CARES Sessions Work

Group Rotations and Objectives

  • Starting Point: You will be assigned to a group that begins at one of the CARES letters (C, A, R, E, or S).
  • Objective Completion: At each station, your group will work collaboratively to complete a specific objective related to that focus area.
  • Rotation Sequence: After each session, your group will rotate to the next letter in the CARES acronym.

Session Flow

  1. Prepare: Begin with an introduction to the session's focus and what you'll be working on.
  2. Build: Engage in activities or tasks designed to meet the session's objective.
  3. Reflect: Conclude with a brief discussion to share insights and consider applications.
